In order to keep up with the times and for convenience, at the Annual Congregational Meeting held December 16, 1934, it was decided to use wafers in the communion service.
As our country was in a depression, Pastor Hassler asked Church Council and congregation for a voluntary reduction of 10% in his salary on May 1, 1933.
In order to purchase music, the members of the Choir presented a drama in KGE Hall on February 4 & 5, 1932. There were large attendances both nights.
At a congregational meeting held on Sunday, February 28, 1932, after some discussion and after having been explained by the Pastor, it was unanimously decided to have the choir and Pastor robed. It was decided that the choir and Pastor wear their gowns for the first time on Easter Sunday 1932.
